Do not grow slack in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.
12
Rejoice in hope, endure in affliction, persevere in prayer.
13
Contribute to the needs of the holy ones, exercise hospitality.
14
Bless those who persecute (you), bless and do not curse them.

Have the same regard for one another; do not be haughty but associate with the lowly; do not be wise in your own estimation.

Luke 1:46-49

46
And Mary said: “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;
47
my spirit rejoices in God my savior.

49
The Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is his name.

Reflection:

The book of Romans is one of my favorite books in the Bible. It just speaks out to me. May the Holy Spirit help us all find guidance, hope, faith, and love in His Word.

#Christian #Catholic The #love of a mother is a beautiful gift from God that…

I’ve always known the love of a mother. I’m truly blessed for that. During the passing of my wife’s grandmother and recent conversations, my understanding and appreciation of a mother’s love has seem to grown and broaden. I have a distinct view in my life to see three aspects of motherhood all at the same time, which many of us do. A mother’s love for her young children. A mother’s love for her adult children. A mother’s love for her children and grandchildren. In all stages, she teaches, nurtures, protects, and comforts her children. She continues to do all the same things, but drawing upon her experiences in her own life, only hoping that her children will do and be well–always beyond her own well-being. Spending a life of sacrifice and love is one of the best examples I can see of living God’s purpose and following Jesus Christ’s example.

I can’t help but to admire and appreciate the bond between a mother and her child. The love is all-consuming, undeniable, and pure. The love is one of the most special things that I have experienced in my lifetime.

I pray all of us always remember a mother’s love for her child. Appreciate it, respect it, and celebrate it.

#Christian #Catholic #Bible: whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’…

Reading 1 1 Pt 4:7-13
Responsorial Psalm 96:10, 11-12, 13
Gospel Mark 11:11-26

Excerpts:

Mark 11:22-25

22
Jesus said to them in reply, “Have faith in God.
23
Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it shall be done for him.
24
Therefore I tell you, all that you ask for in prayer, believe that you will receive it and it shall be yours.
25
When you stand to pray, forgive anyone against whom you have a grievance, so that your heavenly Father may in turn forgive you your transgressions.”

Reflection:

May the Holy spirit help us to have faith enough to move mountains and always to remember the act of forgiveness for others in our prayers and in our lives.

#Christian #Catholic #Bible “Go your way; your faith has saved you.”

(Readings from May 27, 2010)

Reading 1 1 Pt 2:2-5, 9-12
Responsorial Psalm 100: 2, 3, 4, 5
Gospel Mark 10:46-52

Excerpts:

Mark 10:49-52

49
Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” So they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take courage; get up, he is calling you.”
50
He threw aside his cloak, sprang up, and came to Jesus.
51
Jesus said to him in reply, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man replied to him, “Master, I want to see.”
52
Jesus told him, “Go your way; your faith has saved you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed him on the way.

Reflection:

May the Holy spirit give us strength enough to throw away our “cloaks” away and follow Jesus Christ so that He may help us in our times of need.
